Major multi-year commitment in support of Racer Athletics and the development of its student-athletes and sports programs
Impact
The largest gift ever in Õ¬ÄÐÊÓƵ State University’s history, this commitment from the Dill family will provide resources for much-needed facility upgrades and renovations, enhancements to the student-athlete experience, and future facility projects. By providing a long-term source of funding for these projects, the Dill family helps to ensure that Õ¬ÄÐÊÓƵ State can continue to recruit and retain excellent student athletes and operate a successful athletics program for years to come.
Inspiration
The Dill family’s connection to Õ¬ÄÐÊÓƵ State runs deep and wide. The late Mike Dill came to Õ¬ÄÐÊÓƵ State in 1978 to join the Racer basketball coaching staff. Marilyn Dill, then Marilyn Valentine, arrived in the mid-1970s as a student. Mike and Marilyn’s two sons, David and Chris, carried on the Racer tradition by both attending Õ¬ÄÐÊÓƵ State as student-athletes, David in the golf program and Chris in football. They both also met their spouses, Ashley and Michelle, while attending Õ¬ÄÐÊÓƵ State. David is a member of the Õ¬ÄÐÊÓƵ State University Foundation Board of Trustees and served as the chair for the Be Bold National Campaign Council.
